VGD: 3-5-8 Understanding to add your Developer’s Toolkit

So we’ve survived two long tutorial projects for Coding with C# and using Unity.  Before we move forward with updating your Space Shooter project, I want you reflect on and communicate what you’ve picked up from these first few months.

I’m looking for you to communicate three categories of understanding:

  1. 8 Coding Concepts: Describe and explain 8 coding concepts that you learned and/or used with the Roller-Ball and/or Space Shooter Tutorial Projects. Concepts can be specific sections of code, rules of syntax, explanations of syntax, explanations of variables, categories of code, etc. When demonstrating your understanding of the concept, you’ll want to touch on the following:
    • Does the concept have a formal name, and if so, what is it?
    • What does this concept enable the developer to do?
    • Where/how did you use it in one of your previous projects? (screen shots are a plus)
  2. 5 Elements of Unity: Describe and explain 5 elements of Unity that you learned and/or used with the previous tutorial projects. You should pick these elements based on their utility to a developer, so choose the features of Unity that were useful OR that your understanding of such an element as useful in itself. When demonstrating your understanding of the element, you’ll want to touch on the following:
    • What is the element?
    • How do you interact with it in Unity?
    • What does this element enable a developer to do?
    • Where/how did you use it in one of your previous projects? (screen shots are a plus)
  3. 3 Developer Reflections: Identify 3 areas for your own personal growth as a Developer. These topics of reflection should not be along the lines of “know more stuff”.  Instead reflect on your processes of gaining new knowledge, tackling challenges, and being productive.

You will communicate all of that via a PowerPoint Presentation, and yes, you will present it. Each presenter will have 5 mins for their presentation, followed by one follow up question from me. So be ready to clarify any and all points in your presentation. It must be a PowerPoint docs, and dropped off on the T Drive.
